Introduction of Intelligentized Robotic Welding Technology Laboratory of Shanghai Jiao Tong University

  The Intelligentized Robotic Welding Technology Laboratory of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was established by Professor Chen Shanben in March 2000, and has accumulated a series of academic and technical bases in the research work of intelligentized robotic welding and intelligentized welding manufacturing technology and its system realization led by Professor Chen Shanben since the 1990s.

Developed artificial intelligence technology to simulate the observation, judgment and operation behavior of welders, research on key technologies such as automatic identification of welding environment, intelligent control of welding pool based on visual information in local environment, computer vision, knowledge modeling, fuzzy neural network and intelligent control are successfully used to solve the problem of dynamic process control of pulse TIG welding under various typical process conditions, formed a series of inovative result: based on welding environment visual information recognition, pool dynamic shape and two-dimensional, 3D characteristics of visual computing, welding dynamic process of visual, arc soundspectral and multi-information acquisition and fusion technology, build neural network deep learning algorithm of welding quality prediction model, welding dynamic process fuzzy neural network controller design, with time delay of neural network compensation and self-learning control, using fuzzy identification and rough set theory knowledge modeling of welding process of uncertain objects; Basic research results of intelligent robotic welding science and technology for multi-information fusion prediction and compensation control method of aluminum alloy GTAW welding air hole defects.

Research on the key technology of local autonomous and intelligent welding robot system, and integrated developed the initial welding environment perception of autonomous recognition and guidance, weld recognition and independent planning, track correction and tracking, welding melt pool visual sensing and feature extraction, process expert system guidance, penetration. Developed and manufactured an intelligent in welding flexible manufacturing cell (IWFMC) with 9 freedom degrees, a Local Autonomous Intelligent Welding Robot (LAIWR) system with 7 freedom degrees and visual serving and real-time feedback intelligent controller for welding dynamic process, and full-position autonomous welding robot with wheel-foot combination cross-barrier (APAWR). A series of innovative results have been obtained in the key technology research and system development of intelligent and autonomous welding robot.

  A series of innovative results have been obtained in the research of key technologies and system realization of intelligentized robot welding and intelligentized welding manufacturing systemsThe Petri network theory is applied for the optimization design of multi-robot welding flexible machining unit / system; the research on Petri network modeling and coordinated control method; and the coordinated control of intelligent multi-robot welding flexible machining unit and system from the perspective of multi-agent. The intelligent structure model of multi-robot welding flexible manufacturing system with cognitive structure and reaction structure-HRAS is proposed. A multi-robot welding flexible manufacturing system is constructed that coordinates and cooperate to complete welding tasks. The series of research results of MAS-MLD modeling and coordination control method of intelligent welding manufacturing system, and the hybrid intelligence (HI) evaluation of intelligentized robot welding process and intelligentized welding manufacturing system are proposed.

In the above fields, Prof. Chen has received more than 50 key projects of the national Natural Science Foundation of China, general projects, international cooperation and exchange projects, pre-research of the National Ninth Five-Year Plan, key projects of the Ministry of Education and Shanghai Municipality. The studied "key technology of local environment autonomous intelligent welding robot" has been effectively applied in the welding manufacturing of aerospace aircraft, ship and automobile, and has promoted the progress of the welding manufacturing automation technology in China. The main members of the LAB have won the second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first and second prizes of National Defense Science and Technology Award, the first prize of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology, the first prize of Science and Technology of Chinese Universities, the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Ministry of Education, Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award and Patent Invention Award. And has More than 60 national invention patents and more than 30 software Copyrights in China.
