Intelligent Robots Encompassing Human Society: Are You Ready?
Abstract
Bill Gates has written an article back on 2007 at “Scientific American” which stated that “the next hot field will be Robotics”. It is emphasized that intelligent robots will enter into human societies and families for providing assistances to the human beings. As the time pass by, we all evidence the dream slowly become true. There are so many progresses have been revealed that the service robots, such as Nao, Pepper, Buddy, Jibo, etc. have made very interesting applications. In this talk, the state of the art technological development, such as machine learning, cognitive systems and robotics, industry 4.0 key spirits on intelligent robots, such as human- robot collaboration and its global market trends will be discussed. The recent research results in the international center of excellence on intelligent robotics and automation research at National Taiwan University including video demonstration will be presented. Future challenges and perspectives on this subject will also be included.
