Biography
Prof. Heping CHEN received his bachelor's degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1989, his master's degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 1999, and his PhD from Michigan State University in 2004.
Prof. Heping CHEN is currently a tenured professor and director of the Robotics Laboratory at Texas State University. He has worked as a researcher for 6 years at the ABB R&D Center. He has 12 years of experience in the industry, has published more than 150 papers, and has nearly 20 patents or patent applications. He has received more than 10 awards, including the International Top Journal Outstanding Paper Award and the Michigan State University Outstanding Graduate Award.
His research includes robotic welding, industrial robotics and automation, machine learning/deep learning, mobile operations, wafer transfer robots, machine vision, control systems, nanofabrication and nanobots.
