AI and Robotics Activating Intelligent Manufacturing Paradigm Shift: Dynamic Welding as an Exemplary Best Practice

摘要

Industrial Cyber Physical System, AI and Robotics in revitalizing and strengthening the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector through digitization, virtualization, network-based intelligent manufacturing systems has become an important world-wide national policy. Intelligent manufacturing is not merely automated factory, but it is an interactive links between manufacturers, end users, suppliers, with no time difference, no error for the entire value chain, under increased efficiency and flexibility at reduced cost.
To achieve the goal of mass customization, highly efficient productivity, autonomous decision and error prediction through enhanced horizontal and vertical system integration has become increased international competitiveness through sensory control (IaaS), networked platform (PaaS) and software services (SaaS).
In this talk, issues and approaches of the core spirits of industrial cyber physical system, AI and robotics activating intelligent manufacturing paradigm shift which enabling new digital economy will be addressed. Intelligent control technology are generated that can be used to offer on dynamic welding as an exemplary best practice will also be presented.

简介

Dr. Ren C. Luo received the Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing degrees in electrical engineering from the Technische Universitaet Berlin, Germany. He is currently served as Chief Technology Officer of FFG-Fair Friend Group;Irving T. Ho Chair and Distinguished Professor at National Taiwan U.; Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, and Founding President of Robotics Society of Taiwan. He also served two-terms as President of National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan. He was a Tenured Full Professor of Department of ECE at North Carolina State U., Raleigh, USA and Toshiba Chair Professor at the U. of Tokyo, Japan. His research interests include intelligent robotic systems, multi-sensor fusion and integration,3D printing manufacturing. He has authored more than 500 papers on international refereed Transactions/Journals and refereed international conferences and international patents on these topics. Dr. Luo received IEEE Eugean Mittlemann Outstanding Research Achievement Award; ALCOA Foundation Outstanding Engineering Research Award, USA; Ministry of Science and Technology Outstanding Research Awards; Dr. Luo served as Editor-in-Chief of IEEE/ASME Transactions On Mechatronics, and Co-Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics. He served as President of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. He also served as Adviser of Ministry of Economics Affairs and Science &Technical Adviser of Prime Minister's Office in Taiwan. Dr. Luo is a Fellow of IEEE and a Fellow of IET.
