       With the development of advanced manufacturing technology, robotic welding and intelligentized welding technologies have been key technologies in the equipment manufacturing industry and present the development trends. Actually, nowadays, nearly half of the industry robots in service are welding robots. Teaching play-back robots in service, however, cannot meet the standards of quality, precision and efficiency of the high tech welding products due to the assembling error, the changes on welding environment and condition, the complexity of welding dynamics, the welding deformation and so on. Therefore, it is quite urgent to conduct the research works on the intelligentized robotic welding technology and then develop the new generation of the Intelligentized welding robots and systems which can preliminarily imitate the human welders’ behavior.

      It is under such a background that the 4th International Conference on Robotic Welding, Intelligence and Automation (RWIA’2014) and the 10th Chinese Conference on Robotic Welding (CCRW’2014) are organized. Both conferences will be hold in Shanghai, China in Oct. 25 -27, 2014, during the period of Shanghai Expo2014. Particularly, RWIA ‘2014 will be the 4rd conference of the successive RWIA conferences which was first held in Shanghai in Dec. 2002. RWIA’2014 will provide a platform for the experts, scholars, professional technical personnel, etc, in Intelligentized robotic welding technology, intelligentized robots, intelligentized manufacturing and related application fields. The world renowned scholars and experts are invited to present the latest academic and technological reports. The famous robots companies will introduce their newly techniques on welding robots. And the application reports on welding robots and automatic techniques will also been presented.

       The conference proceedings in English will be formally published in the new series "Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing"( http://www.springer.com/series/11156) by Springer Verlag and indexed by ISI Proceedings, EI-Compendex, DBLP, SCOPUS, Google Scholar and Springerlink, and partial papers will be recommended for publication in Journals,such as Industrial Robot, Sensor Review etc,which will be collected by SCI & EI. While the proceedings in Chinese will be published as a regular issue of Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University and the high quality ones will be indexed by EI..

●Paper Submission:

Authors should submit the manuscript of full paper in English or Chinese to the congress secretariat via Email before the deadline of full-length paper submissions. It is better to limit the full-length paper in 4-6 pages. The cover page should contain: Paper title, Authors name, Affiliation, Address, Telephone number, Email address of corresponding author, Abstract, 3-5 keywords and the suggested technical area (e.g. S01: Intelligentized robotic welding technologies) The document must be submitted in MS-WORD format. ( Electronic Edition Is Necessary. )

While the proceedings in Chinese will be published as a regular issue of Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University and the high quality ones will be collected by EI.
