Biography
Yingcai Wan holds a doctorate in engineering. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute of Robotics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, from July 2024 to September 2026. His research addresses autonomous robotic operation and intelligent welding in complex large-steel-structure environments.
Research interests
His work covers robot perception, stereo vision and depth estimation, 3D reconstruction, and embodied intelligence. He studies LLM-enhanced visual perception, weld-seam recognition and localisation, coordinated mobile-platform and robot-arm control, and autonomous mobile welding systems, seeking to integrate perception, planning, control and quality inspection.
Research output
He has published more than 20 papers in journals and conference proceedings, including Measurement, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L), and the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA). He has participated in research related to national key R&D programmes and national major projects, with experience in robot technology development and systems integration.
