Associate Professor Lin received his Bachelor of Welding Engineering in July 1989 and his Master Degree in April 1992 from Harbin Institute of Technology, P. R. China. And he was granted a Ph.D. degree in Material Processing in September 2008 from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, PRC. From 1992 to 1995, he worked in Shanghai Institute of Welding Technology. Since 1995, he worked at School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and now as Associate Professor and Deputy Director of Welding Engineering Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Main Completed and Executing Research Projects

The key project from NSFC: “Intelligent Control Technology and Systems of Robotic Space Seam Welding Quality”

The investigator of applied sub-project

Mainly responsible for applying main research findings of the project, that is coordinated control of robot technology and modern welding power source technology, to practise.

 

Project: Key manufacturing technology and its equipping of Torque Converter Production Line
The investigator of sub-project

Mainly completed the research of welding technology and equipment in torque converter which is a key components of Buick's Car Automatic Transmission, and established the first domestic welding production line of hydraulic torque converter.

 

Presided over a major technical transformation projects for China Aerospace Corporation: Automatic Welding of longitudinal weld in tank cylinder of launch vehicle.

 

Presided over a major technical transformation projects for China Aerospace Corporation: Automatic Welding of circumferential weld of launch vehicle tank.

 

Presided over a major technical transformation projects for China Aerospace Corporation: Automatic Welding of weld in tank bottom of launch vehicle.

 

Mainly completed the research of automatic welding technology, equipment and other aspects of fuel tank in Changzheng series of rocket
The three projects above have been identified by State Commission of Science and Technology for National Defense and put into production.

 

Presided over a "the Ninth Five-Year" pre-research projects for China Aerospace Corporation: Intelligent welding technology of Aluminum alloy airframe structures, which deal witch the study of the application of vision sensor-based seam tracking in robot system and uses of these research results have been spread widely

 

Support the Shanghai Natural Science Foundation: Research of feature extraction of penetration and control methods in GMAW based on welding sound signals.
